The delicate design of Alforno Bakery & Café acts to enhance the delectable fresh-baked pastries and bread made in-house daily in the heart of Calgary’s Eau Claire neighbourhood. The boutique bakery concept is translated through a bustling front-of-house and elevated counter-service area; however, the space was designed to be a full commercial bakery, a testament to the seamless integration of form and function the FRANK team excels at.

The space is elegant and airy, featuring a whitewashed palette, custom-designed light fixtures, and a beautiful south-facing courtyard-style patio. Antique mirrors, brass detailing, rust-coloured leather and marble create a sophisticated finish for Alforno, cementing its place among the city’s most stylish rooms.

While the boutique bakery has proven to be an irresistible stop for the early-morning breakfast crowd, casual afternoon coffee dates and bicyclists stopping by on their weekend adventure, it also moonlights as an intimate wine bar, taking full advantage of the fireplace and elegant custom lighting designed for the project.
